(I looked for an Instagram photo, just not the worst quality photo ever. Let’s see how it goes.)
I had a nice day off from work yesterday, so I decided to consider myself a shop potter. It was glorious. Nice and quiet because, you know, it’s January and everyone’s still looking for an early pay packet.
It was a pretty successful trip actually, and after I sorted out some boring, overdue banking stuff, I gave myself a little credit for having been so diligent in saving that I decided to spend. Unexpectedly? Little.

I bought some clothes from Zara and Oasis, and I’ve already rotated some of them into my wardrobe today. Most of them were short trades, so I’m smug and happy too. The clothes don’t suit me though, you’ll just have to take my word for it that it’s pretty.
So instead I got a picture of the beauty pieces I purchased.
I needed another one of my staple products La Roche Posay Effaclar Duo+ and noticed the Serozinc toner next to it. I’m not sure how long Boots have been stocking them, but the last thing I heard was that the online stock is for the UK only. I’ve been wanting to try it for a while, so I bought two as there was a 3 for 2 offer and I didn’t need anything else.
I was drawn to Maybelline’s extensive PR campaign for their new The Falsies Push Up Drama mascara, so I bought it too because it was on sale and I’m a mascara fan. I usually let my mascara oxidize a bit before I use it properly but the formula seemed very thick indeed when I tried it quickly this morning. I’ll reserve judgment until I use it properly and see if it lives up to the “push up” claims, as well as my own smudge-proof needs (#oilycap issues).

Last stop was TKMaxx where I purchased this bottle of TIGI Catwalk Your Highness Shampoo. I’d never tried or heard of it before, but the target market of fine, lifeless hair prone to static seemed like it was aimed at me. Look at this space. I could have bought the conditioner too, but I figure it doesn’t really matter what type of conditioner you use, unless your hair is really dry. Surely shampoo is what matters? I could be wrong, so if you disagree and think I should match my conditioner to my shampoo, please let me know!
I also purchased a Nails Inc gel effect nail polish in “West End” which is an orange red. I got it in one day so I can only comment on the fact that I love the colour.
Also, not in the image or beauty associated with it at all but definitely worth mentioning. I got myself a rose gold pen from Paperchase. This will be a bit of a luxury at work on Monday. So alert to any fellow stationery lovers! Only 5 pounds too 🙂
